PEDALS provides in-classroom training designed to foster social-emotional learning in everyday moments.
Professional development for positive interactions.
Every classroom is one-of-a-kind, which is why PEDALS has several adaptable, reflective models of training available for early childhood educators. Everyday Interactions Matter (EIM) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum are research-informed programs that help prepare young kids to thrive in Kindergarten and beyond. The Benefits of PEDALS Coaching
PEDALS coaching is relationship-driven and provides reflective support to ensure the successful implementation of SEL and EIM curriculum.
PEDALS coaches can help with:
- Creating and implementing ongoing reflective practice to build educator confidence
- Providing responsive, real-time nurturing support to both educators and children
- Aligning systems and embedding strategies so that they become part of the school culture
- Observation, modeling, and constructive feedback
- Creating emotionally secure learning environments
Learning through relationships
Developed in partnership with Trying Together and the Fred Rogers Institute, PEDALS launched Everyday Interactions Matter (EIM), where educators observe and reflect upon powerful moments of growth, sharing, learning, and belonging in their everyday interactions with young children.
Through guided reflection, coaching, and collaboration, educators deepen their understanding of how small, intentional interactions shape social-emotional development.
The EIM Experience:
- Educators review classroom video footage to see how their natural teaching moments align with research-based practices
- Supportive discussions help teachers strengthen their impact.
- Educators gain insight into why their pedagogy works, reinforcing effective, inclusive teaching methods.
- Collaboration and shared learning takes center stage for leadership development.
Our Preschool & Kindergarten Approach
PEDALS supports educators in implementing SEL practices that help children develop essential skills for preschool, kindergarten, and beyond.
While we use Second Step, a research-backed SEL curriculum that strengthens attention, memory, and self-control, we also support other SEL curriculums to fit each classroom’s needs.
Features of our Approach:
- Engaging SEL lessons that include interactive puppets, music, games, and books to help children build focus, self-regulation, and social skills
- Developmentally appropriate strategies that are adaptable for all learners
- In-classroom coaching (3 hours/month) supports real-time SEL implementation
- Data-driven insights show measurable gains in self-regulation, peer relationships, and engagement
Our Preschool & Kindergarten Approach
Learning is stronger when we do it together. PEDALS creates welcoming spaces for educators and leaders to connect, share, and grow through communities of practice, learning hubs, and hands-on coaching.
Our community partnerships bring people together!
